Article 37 - Equal Opportunity Statement
The University of Maine System shall not discriminate and
shall comply with applicable laws prohibiting discrimination on the
grounds of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national
origin or citizenship status, age, handicap, or veterans status in
employment education, and all other areas of the University. The
University of Maine System does not discriminate on the basis of
handicap in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in
its programs and activities, in compliance with Section 504 of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and its implementing regulations. In
addition, the University of Maine System does not discriminate on
the basis of sex in its educational programs or activities, in
compliance with Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1072 and
its implementing regulations. Questions and complaints about
discrimination in any area of the University or about the
application of Section 504 or Title IX should be directed to the
appropriate campus Equal Opportunity Director or to the Equal
